On this site you can find in-depth information about possible applications of climbers. Our encyclopaedia contains descriptions and photos of over 300 climbers and ground covers, including the newest varieties of clematis introduced in 2004. The encyclopaedia can be searched and sorted by various criteria e.g. name, flower colour, height, aspect, blooming time and even country of origin, thus facilitating the choice of appropriate plants. Search results can be viewed in the form of a table or an illustrated catalogue. Most of the varieties are shown in several photographs presenting different aspects of growth e.g. flowers, foliage, fruit and application. Frost hardiness is given according to USDA classification. It's worthwhile to note that all texts printed in blue are active links that lead to related information, such as photographs or pruning methods: 1 (none), 2 (light) or 3 (hard). The encyclopaedia is accompanied by extensive section containing plants characteristics, growing advice, examples of application, as well as a few articles about clematis.

We hope that our encyclopaedia will convince you that climbers are invaluable plants that can embellish every garden.
